The best of many
I have listened to many Disney podcasts over the last year and Rope Drop is the best of them all! It’s the perfect balance of useful tips, interesting content, and entertaining hosts. I like how real they are, very relatable!
The Only Disney Pod You Need!!!
Planning a trip to Disney? This is the only podcast you need! Seriously, like so many other reviewers I tried out a lot of other podcasts before finally finding Doug and Derek’s gem of a show. There are a lot of Disney themed podcasts out there that are really just 95% marketing from travel agents with a few tips thrown in. But Doug and Derek - while sponsored by an awesome travel agency - are there providing truly honest reviews, tips, and pros/cons to all things Disney, as well as amplifying their listeners experiences, tips, and questions as well. Add in their witty banter and the result is feeling like you’re hanging out with two friends helping you to make the most of your time at Disney (versus trying to sell you things). What I love most about RDR is that they’re not afraid to critique things that aren’t great or which they view as a potential waste of your time and money (while still giving space to those who might feel differently), and also that as two Dads who have done all types of Disney trips - from family trips with littles and teens, to adult couple trips, to solo work trips - they really meet listeners where they are at and provide a range of guidance pending the type of trip you are planning. This leaves me - a Mom of a 3 yr old and by then 8 yr old - planning our first ever trip for early 2025 feeling armed with the insider info I need to get the most of our experience, avoid time or money traps, but also not feel like we didn’t “do Disney right” if we’re not on Main Street in Magic Kingdom for every parade, firework show, and photo. Disney’s a big investment and I’m grateful to have stumbled across this pod to help me feel more excited and empowered vs. overwhelmed. Kudos to Derek and Doug for keeping it real and fun, keep it up!
5 stars — it’s not rocket science: Kah-Bye-Air-Oh
Great Disney podcast! — Update: I’m not gonna knock you down a star or do you wrong like that, but please hear me out: The Caballero mispronunciation is not cute anymore, I never found it funny but the fact it’s still happening really bugs me. Please learn how to properly pronounce “caballero.” It’s actually getting offensive, this is the US and basic Spanish language skills are the norm for most people, so please cut it out. It’s not funny. It’s wrong. You know how to say it, so please just do. (Giving you the benefit of the doubt: “Kah-bye-air-oh”)
Of course 5 stars
These two goofy fellas deserve all the stars! Love the banter these two have between them. Clearly see and feel the friendship they share. Oh and they know Disney World! Listen and learn all the tips, tricks, and feel confident going, “to a now slightly less stressful trip” to the most magical place on earth. Favorite podcast!
Great listen
Love this podcast! My wife and I just started listening to it about a month ago and we think it’s great! We go to Disney every year and always looking for new tips and tricks on how to do Disney! Keep up the great work guys! P.s. release the rope drop radio run club merch!
Great Show
Really enjoyed listening to this show leading up to our Labor Day Disney trip - particularly the “low key” tips!
Great show!
Love the show guys but you have to get the volume level up. Every episode is almost a whisper.
Derek & Doug, Rope Drop Kings!
I have an hour-long commute, and this is one of my go-to podcasts. Doug & Derek are full of information and banter. I find myself laughing out loud in my car. I don’t get to Disney as often as I wish, and they help me cope in between trips. Thanks double-D’s.
Exactly what a Disney Travel pod should be
This pod is great. Informative, honest and fun. When I went to Disney in April of 2024 with the kids for the first time I started to listen to all the Disney podcasts. Months later and I am still Listening to Derek and Doug weekly. PS. Being honest about Disney doesn’t mean Doug hates it
Great podcast on Disney
I wanted to give a review to you guys since I listen to your podcast in my way home at night from work. I have a 48 minute commute and learned so many tips and tricks for my next Disney vacation next year. I have been four times in my life and live in Upstate NY. Anyone that wants to learn about the ins and outs of the parks and entertaining at the same time, this is your podcast Thank you so much for bringing us your knowledge and banter to make our Disney planning a lot easier. Don’t fret about the reviews that aren’t 5 stars. Take care
Fun!
Wow - wish I had this information during our last Disney trip 😭
5 Stars for sure!
I love to listen to this podcast every week. I love to clean while listening to Derek and Doug talk Disney. I thank you and my husband thanks you for a clean house. The only thing that would make it better if there were more episodes per week or the episodes were longer so my house could be even cleaner. Other podcasts I listen to are very hit and miss, but this one I can always count on! Thanks you so much! We have our first trip as a family scheduled this September.
Not 2 Stars !!!!!
Been listening to your podcast for a while and you guys are great all kinds of excellent tips and the camaraderie back-and-forth is excellent. Keep up the good work.
Top Disney Podcast
I love this podcast! I have gotten so many tips from you and the guests you have. We are going this week and loved the top Epcot tips from you and Alyssa! Hope we run into her at the gift shop! Thank you for always keeping it fun and entertaining.
Love this show!
I stumbled upon this podcast about a year ago - just after my family’s first Disney trip. I have been many times and fell in love all over again after experiencing it with them for the first time. Doug and Derek are down to earth and fun to listen to. I really enjoy their listener question episodes and how well they get along when chatting all things Disney. We just wrapped our 2nd family trip and have a 3rd one on the horizon. Listening to this podcasts in between vacations helps keep the Disney magic alive! 😊
So Fun!
Doug and Derek make my drive to work so much more fun! I love to listen about Disney and even though we go frequently I still learn more about Disney from them! My favorite episodes are when they discuss the TPS reports or updates about the parks and future!
Lots of fun and lots of knowledge
I know alot about WDW and love WDW so much, but these guys add a little bit more. I always learn something new. They are fun to listen to and are always at the top of my listen list.
Fun and Informative
These guys have so many great tips that I haven’t heard on other podcasts! They almost always bring something new to the table
Top of the class
I’m not sure when my families next trip will be, but I know I’ll be ready after listening to your podcast. Thank you for not turning the podcast into a travel agent ad. I can handle the reference at the beginning and then it’s right to Disney world content. Just how it should be. Keep up the great work.
Love the show!
I have been listening to your show for a couple of years and just love it! Derek and Doug cover Disney so well! You’ve inspired me to start my own Disney podcast this year with a friend. Thank you!
Great!
An excellent Disney World travel resource. I like how articulate and concise these guys are. It’s not rambling and self-indulgent like some others. Thanks!
Rope Drop is Fantasmic!!!
New listeners to Rope Drop radio as we have an upcoming Disney World trip forthcoming. (Our 3rd trip as a family to date). Listened to just about every 2024 episode to date along with the 1st episode (when traveling to/from youth sporting events). Derek and Doug provide great insight on everything Disney via their own experiences. We are not entirely sure if Derek’s love of PizzaRizzo is real or not to date??? My son thinks we have to try it out on our upcoming trip. 🧐🤨 Anyways our family highly recommends. Keep up the great work fellas.
Great Disney Podcast
The guys offer a great blend of tips, tricks, stories, experiences and topics. A worthwhile listen for any Disney-goer
A Couple of Cinnamon Rolls
As someone who’s not usually super excited to listen to a couple of midwestern dads chat, it should probably mean something that this is one of my favorite podcasts. Derek and Doug are weirdly charismatic and their Disney World content always feels fresh and engaging, as well as informative. Thanks for helping me navigate the Disney Parks!
The First Plaid Vests of your Disney Experience
Doug and Derek, the dynamic Disney World duo, give all of the best tips and ask for so little in return. As I listen to their podcast, and take in all of the great tips and tricks that are passed on, I realize Derek and Doug are my first VIP tour guides through the Disney Parks. So much so that I have convinced myself that they are wearing the familiar plaid vests (worn by Disney VIP guides) every podcast. They give a range of tips that help you plan every facet of your Disney trip; resorts, restaurants, park-hopping, and special events are just a few of the areas they provide pro tips for. Their rope drop (and reverse rope drop) strategies and tips for using Genie+ are the best you’ll find! So much that you believe you’re getting insider tips from the best. And this is all before the charm of two dads who love their families share their family friendly comedy and funny stories. Whether you are a regular park goer or planning that once in a lifetime trip, this is the podcast for you.
Rope Drop Radio is the best!
Since we’ve starting planning our large family WDW trip for this summer, I’ve been putting on Disney podcasts for tips whenever I’m out running errands. Doug and Derek at Rope Drop Radio strike the perfect balance as Disney podcasters. They have great on air chemistry in addition to being interesting, informative, and funny. But they are also realistic and you can trust that they’re telling it like it is -the good and the maybe not so good. Rope Drop Radio is my favorite Disney podcast by far! Thanks Doug and Derek for all of your hard work and I’m going to ask for that extra cinnamon roll icing!
Yes!
Heck yeah bro!
My weekly go-to Disney podcast!
I’ve been listening to these fellas for several years and really enjoy the candid reviews about all topics. Please keep the tips and hacks coming because they are greatly appreciated!
A must-listen podcast before you go to Disney World
I was planning my family’s first ever vacation to WDW and was in a panic about Genie+, LL’s, navigating all 4 parks and prioritizing attractions. I found Doug and Derek’s podcast, and I’m so glad I did. I had such a great time listening to the podcasts—laughing while learning. I just came back from my trip, and I completely mastered the rides system with the tips from this podcast. My kids kept talking about how much we “rope dropped” each day. I’m grateful for all of the help! Doug and Derek are A+ genies!
